Welcome to Gables Pizza and Salad, or GPS if you prefer. All we want to do is make the best pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and salads that have ever passed your lips, and to do that with a smile and a joke for no extra cost. Superior ingredients go into our dishes, and exceptional personality into our customer service.
Miguel Bermudez, the man behind the restaurant who entered the business at the mature age of 14 as a grill cook at Pinkie’s Diner in South Florida. After Pinkies, Miguel ran the grill at several of South Florida’s establishments including: Sizzler, Cami's, Hooters, The Cheesecake Factory and Grand Lux. In 1997, Miguel gave up his position in the kitchen to manage The Beverly Hills Café in Miami. Three years later, Miguel was offered the opportunity to take his skills abroad, and worked as a chef in Ruth Chris’ Steak House in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Longing for South Florida, Miguel returned to The Beverly Hills Café for another three years, where he decided to enhance his skills with a degree from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary College in Miami, where he graduated Cum Laude. That achievement was followed by a brief stint as a Sous Chef at Mon Abi Gabi in Nevada (but …what happens in Vegas…).
The story resumes in 2009, Miguel realized that his separate strengths can combine into something special. That (maybe painful) realization led to the birth of Gables Pizza and Salad, and back to the goal of it all: great food, served with a smile, for a small price. We have classic dishes like pepperoni pizza and spaghetti and soon to be favorites like Mother Nature’s Way Salad and Pink Pasta. We know that our fresh ingredients, special recipes, and wide variety can tickle your tummy. Add in the service with a joke and a smile and GPS just can’t be beat.
